Please read these this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use carefully before using this Website. By accessing this Website, you agree to the following terms, which govern this Website. If you do not agree to these terms, do not access this Website. Materne retains the right to deny access to this Website to anyone at its complete discretion for any reason, including without limitation, for violation of any of these terms.

PRIVACY POLICY

The company MATERNE NORTH AMERICA CORP.  (“Materne”), French manufacturer of GOGO SQUEEZ® branded products distributed in Canada, has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and use practices for the Materne Canadian website, www.gogosqueez.ca (“Website”).

HOW MATERNE COLLECTS PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, as more particularly described under applicable privacy legislation.

Materne may collect personal information from you when you voluntarily provide it to us through a number of features available on this Website.  For example, Materne may ask you to provide personal information if you:

  • register for a contest or other promotion;
  • participate in a review, survey, a consumer research panel, or similar type of activity;
  • ask to receive online information from us;
  • provide comments to us and/or
  • otherwise participate in features of our Website that ask for personal information.

Your participation in any of these activities is voluntary and Materne will only use the personal information you provide for the purposes for which it was collected.  For example, Materne may use the personal information you provide to: respond to your questions or comments; administer our contests and promotions; and/or to otherwise provide or improve our products and services. Materne will not send you any online newsletters or similar e-mail or text communications unless you expressly consent to receive such communications from us. Materne may, however, send you notices of changes to our Privacy Policy.

You may be given the opportunity to consent to receive future promotional communications from Materne via email or text. If you opt-in to receive such communications, Materne may use the information to communicate with you via email or text (as applicable) regarding our products, services and promotions. You will always have the opportunity to “unsubscribe” from receiving e-mail or other communications at any time.

Materne may make available services on its Website (for example, message boards, forums, comment functionality and chat functionality, among other services) to which you are able to post information and materials. Please note that any information you disclose through these services becomes public information, and may be available to visitors to the Website and to the general public. We urge you to exercise discretion and caution when deciding to disclose personal information, or any other information, on the Site. MATERNE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE USE OF ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU VOLUNTARILY DISCLOSE THROUGH THE WEBSITE.

As noted above, Materne does not collect any personal information about you during your visit to this Website unless you provide that information voluntarily by posting content, sending an e-mail or initiating an online transaction such as a survey, registration, sweepstakes or contest entry. You may choose not to post content, send us an e-mail, respond to a survey, or enter a sweepstakes or contest. While your choice not to participate in these activities may limit your ability to receive specific services or products through this Website, it will not prevent you from requesting services or products from Materne by other means and will not normally have an impact on your ability to take advantage of other features of the Website, including browsing or downloading publicly available information.

HOW MATERNE SHARES PERSONAL INFORMATION

Materne may transfer your personal information to various third parties who provide services on our behalf. These entities may use the information solely in conjunction with the specific promotion services they provide for us (e.g. responding to your question or comment; providing a promotional prize; deployment of a consumer survey; investigation of a complaint; providing marketing research; customer service and web-related services). These third parties may be located inside or outside of Canada. Materne takes reasonable, contractual, and other measures to protect your personal information while processed or handled by these third parties to ensure that it is only used in accordance with this policy.

Materne does not rent, sell or distribute personally identifiable information to third parties other than as described above.

Materne reserves the right to transfer any personal information we have about you in the event that Materne sells or transfers all or a portion of its business or assets to a third party. Further, Materne reserve the right to disclose any personal information as needed if such information is requested by law enforcement agencies or if we are requested to do so by law, regulation, court order, or by a government entity. Materne may also disclose your personal information to third parties if we have reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to: (1) comply with the law or legal process served on Materne; (2) enforce and investigate potential violations of the Terms of Use, including use of this Website to participate in, or facilitate, activities that violate the law; or (3) protect the rights, property, or safety of Materne employees, customers or the public. You consent to the access and disclosures outlined in this section.

Important Note to Parents – Materne does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13). Parents should be aware that information that is voluntarily given by children in chat sessions, email exchanges, bulletin boards or the like may be used by other parties to generate unsolicited email or other contacts. We encourage all parents to instruct their children on the safe and responsible use of the Internet. If a child has already provided us with personal information, his or her parent or guardian may contact us for the purpose of deleting this information.

Materne also may collect and analyze general traffic patterns within the Website to help maintain the flow and content of the Website, and Materne may use some or all of this anonymous aggregated information to support Materne commercial, marketing and customer service activities or for any other reason.

Some uses of cookies or non-personal information in connection with our Website may be under the control of unaffiliated entities that Materne retains for the management of certain programs and fulfilment of specific visitor/customer requests. Materne requires these entities to confine their use to the uses permitted by this Privacy Policy.
