One Skillet Turkey Sausage Pasta

This easy one pan pasta is a guaranteed crowd pleaser and a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 500g turkey sausages
  • 180g double smoked bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp each dried sage, oregano, and salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 796ml (28oz) canned diced tomatoes
  • 3 pouches GoGo squeeZ® Apple Mango Guava Fruit Sauce
  • 1 cup 35% cream
  • 1 cup water
  • 127ml canned chopped green chilies
  • 450g dried rotini pasta
  • 2 cups packed baby spinach
  • 3 cups shredded triple cheddar mix, divided
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Heat oil in a 12-inch oven-proof deep sided skillet over medium heat. Cook sausages turning occasionally until golden brown; about 8 minutes. Remove to a board to cool enough to chop into bite sized pieces. (Sausages may not be completely cooked but will continue cooking once added back into skillet.)

Add bacon to same skillet and cook over medium heat until golden and crisp, about 5 minutes. Drain fat from skillet leaving only 1 tsp fat in skillet.

Add onion, garlic, sage, oregano, salt and pepper ; cook 2 min, stirring frequently. Stir in sausage, canned tomatoes, fruit sauce, cream, water, chilies, and pasta. Bring to a simmer, cook covered for 8-10 minutes or until pasta is al dente

Stir in spinach and 2 cups of cheese.

Sprinkle top with remaining 1 cup cheese and broil in oven for 3 minutes.

Serve immediately garnished with parsley.
